When Violence Comes to MacDo Across

As I am writing this blog at the College where I teach, everyone is in a state of agitation over a shooting incident which happened just a few minutes ago at the MacDonalds outlet. The air is thick with all kinds of speculation.

Here are the sketchy details so far:

The Assistant Manager (male, 37 years old) of the store walked into the office of the Manager (female, no other details yet) and shot her twice. She was dead on the spot. Then the Assistant Manager climbed on to the roof of the store and committed suicide by shooting himself. One report says he is fighting for his life at a nearby hospital, another says he has expired.

A case of work rage? Or a lover's spat? Or personal grudge? No one knows. But this is a MacDo outlet - a place for kids! What is more, this is an outlet that is always full of students from nearby schools - DLSU, CSB, St. Scho, etc. There are kids there at all hours!!!

What does it say when violence comes to MacDo and to school in the Philippines???

About the Asst. Manager in Mcdo ol the things that you have said are false, his brother and i are best of friend I know them a lot than you know them. hindi nia gagawin ang ganung bagay sa tao sapagkat pinlaki sila ng kanilang magulng na maayos, walang alam sa kanila kaya wag kang magkumento kung sino ka mang bongA ka... kung gagawin nia yun bagay na un bat pa sia aakyat sa bubung kung pede naman siang tumakbo nalang di ba!?! at saka wag muna kayong manisi o magsalita ng tapos hindi mo alam ang nangyari... dapat magkaroon ng hustisya at linaw ang kasong ito,walang kasalanan si Mr.Asst. Mngr. alam ko at sure ako may mga taong sangkot at responsible sa bagay na to.

How That Letter Came To Be...

I had some time in my hands last night. I bloghopped. For the very first time I got to read in detail what people are saying about that letter and about me in other blogs. I have already responded to most of the comments in this blog. However, I cannot possibly answer all comments given that I have only ten fingers and there are only 24 hours in a day. The Demolition Team Becomes Personal

It has been more than a week since that open letter was written. I am told it is still going around and around and around. I have received hundreds of "thank you emails" from people who took the trouble to trace the return path of that email so that they can get in touch with me to personally expresss their agreement and gratitude " that someone finally articulated what they have been feeling for sometime now ."
